Dedicated to the craft.

Stablished is a clothing brand for people who are dedicated to their craft. Built on top of two decades of creative practice — and aimed at people who treat their work the same way.

“Stablished” … building something that will stand the test of time.

Ratha Nou, founder of Stablished Projects, with Coalla (RIP) — his German Shepherd / Husky dog and brand mascot

It started in 2003. I was a college student in San Jose printing shirts by hand and selling them however I could. I was building something that didn’t fully exist yet, and the name felt honest about that.

The brand went quiet for a long time after that. Not because I stopped working — because I was doing the work that this brand is actually about.

It went quiet for a while. It’s coming back.

The arc

Two decades. One brand. A return.

The condensed version. The years between the chapters are where the work this brand is actually about happened — the part nobody posts, and the part that matters most.

2003 · ORIGIN

The first shirts.

A college student in San Jose, printing tees by hand out of a garage and selling them however he could. The name came from “established” — without the E. A private joke about building something that didn’t fully exist yet.

2004 — 2016 · THE QUIET YEARS

The work this brand is about.

Close to two decades as a professional creative — illustration, motion design, animation, visual storytelling, music, direction. Learning one medium, then the next, then the next. Long stretches of not being good at it yet. Late nights, troubleshooting, failed attempts before anything clicked. The clothing brand stayed dormant. The discipline behind it didn’t.

2017 · THE STUDIO

Stablished becomes a creative studio.

A boutique studio in Oakland, CA. The Stablished name takes shape across video, animation, music, and dance crews. Apparel stays a chapter that hasn’t been written yet — but the muscle keeps forming.

2024 · COALLA

The first companion.

Coalla — German Shepherd / Husky mix — passes after thirteen years. She was there through the freelance years, the studios, the failures and the wins. Her steadiness shows up later as the Doggy’s Day Off collection.

2026 · THE RETURN

The clothing brand comes back.

Same name. Sharper idea of what it’s for. Built on top of two decades of creative practice — and aimed at people who treat their craft the same way.

The manifesto

What we believe.

Six things that show up in every choice we make about what to put a logo on — and what to leave alone.

→ 01

Work ethic at the center.

Work ethic is the heart of everything here. Everything else grows out of it. Not the grind — the ethic: care, persistence, the long-haul relationship with the work.

→ 02

The long version.

Practice, ship, repeat. Stay a student. Always a beginner at something. We don’t believe in shortcuts; we believe in the years.

→ 03

Athletic gear for creatives.

Built for people who treat their craft the way an athlete treats their sport. Heavyweight cotton. Comfortable cuts. The gear you wear while you do the work.

→ 04

The work is the statement.

This brand doesn’t trade on hype or names. The work itself is the statement — which is why what we make doesn’t have to shout.

→ 05

Soulful sounds.

The studio runs on music. Boom-bap, jazz, beats made between meetings, vinyl on the Rhodes. Every drop has a soundtrack — and the soundtrack tells you what the drop is for.

→ 06

Loyal companions.

The people and the dogs around the work are part of the work, not separate from it. Coalla was the first. There will be others.

How it gets made

Designed in Oakland. Made where it should be.

Each piece is designed in the Stablished studio and produced after you order it, by partners who specialize in that specific category — so the hats, the heavyweight tees, and the fleece are each made by people who do that one thing well.

It means nothing sits in a warehouse, and it sometimes means an order arrives in more than one package. It’s how we make things right now. It’s not the point of the brand — just an honest answer to how it gets done.

You’ve spent decades on your craft.  Now your work speaks for itself.
